ALAR is committed to sustainable development, where business goes hand in hand with societal wellbeing and environmental consciousness. By collaborating with various NGOs and Trusts, ALAR undertakes several CSR and community engagement initiatives that contribute to a positive societal impact.

Women’s health initiative

(together with URJA Energy, EDF & DCWA)

The project of “Ensuring a Confident, Dignified and Stable Life for young Women and Girls” organised by ALAR, in association with URJA Energy, ECO- Development Foundation (EDF) and DCWA, at Rajrani Devi Saraswati Vidhya Mandir School, Sambhal, Moradabad, was well received and appreciated by the local community. School going girls were educated about the importance of menstrual and reproductive health. Young girls were also made aware of the uses and hygienic benefits of sanitary pads. 

Free of cost sanitary pads, produced locally under another project of Urja Energy providing employment to underprivileged women, were also distributed to the girls under this project.

ALAR in its endeavour for improving the lives of the underprivileged collaborated with the Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association to contribute to their vision of building a healthy world. Their Medical Centre at Zamrudpur, Delhi provides free treatment to the underprivileged. Alar contributed to providing medicines free of cost to these patients. ALAR also contributed towards the Tuberculosis Eradication Programme of the Association by providing free of cost treatment to several patients.


Free cataract surgeries, Moradabad, UP.

(HelpMeSee Foundation)

ALAR, in association with HelpMeSee, supported in the conduct of 150 Free Cataract surgeries of the underprivileged in Moradabad, UP. 

The communities, where the program was conducted, have benefitted as hitherto access to quality eye care was unavailable. Post operation, all patients enjoyed improved vision and their families were happy that they were rehabilitated back to active work in the family. The Project was completed in 2018.

Skill development

(Sasakawa-India Leprosy Foundation: S-ILF; &Initiative for Social Upliftment: ISU)

S-ILF’s STEP-UP Program aimed to encourage youth of leprosy communities to obtain skills required for Sustainable employment. The program focuses on attaining sustainable livelihoods for drop-out and unemployed youths through skill development trainings.

Alar initially supported 46 such youth from New Delhi leprosy colonies. They are being trained by VIVO Healthcare Institute in Yamuna Vihar, Delhi.

ISU: ALAR, together with Initiative for Social Upliftment, supports and advocates livelihood-based skill programmes for school drop-out girls and housewives in Titu Colony, District Faridabad. The skills being provided includes:

a. Stitching with embroidery

b. Computer Basic & MS-Office cum Personality development

Alar is in continuous interaction with the ground people and is working towards successful implementation of these projects.

Tree plantations & rural development

Together with Eco- Development Foundation (EDF), ALAR undertakes the following initiatives towards rural development in U.P.:

a. Awareness about Organic Farming and its benefits;

b. Tree Plantation: in order to conserve nature, over 200 Trees have been planted in Sambhal, U.P. Many school-going children were also invited to be part of these events;

c. Awareness about Water conservation and drip irrigation;

d. Skill development & training programmes relating to mushroom farming, bee-keeping and sustainable dairy development.
